One of the best kept secrets of Cameron County is a small resale shop called Country Blessings. For those of you who have visited this cute little shop, you were greeted by friendly staff and volunteers; the coffee is always on and almost always accompanied by homemade cookies or sweet breads!
Housed inside the Cameron County Christian Center, Country Blessings began in the fall of 2000. The idea was to receive excess goods from the community, then offer the best items at a reasonable price. Over the years, we have been blessed with a continual stream of items. The surplus items we cannot use are donated to Goodwill; or we have offered the “leftovers” to those who are interested in having an “instant” yard-sale. Simply call the center or stop by for more details.
A large portion of the money received through Country Blessings is given back to the community by providing financial help to those in need. Over the years we have helped with gas, electric, water, fuel, clothing, and shoes. We have donated and provided for dozens of families who would otherwise have to go without. Country Blessings has given to families in need since we have been in operation.
Country Blessings continues to receive donations of clothes and small household items from the community, and we thank the many generous individuals who have made donations; we could not function without their generosity.
We would like to encourage the community to stop by and take a look. While at County Blessings you could enjoy a cup of coffee, a friendly conversation, or you could you simply shop; we understand with today’s economy that is why we do our best to keep prices low and we have weekly specials. This week’s special is, all clothes are $1.00. THAT’S RIGHT FOLKS! ALL CLOTHES JUST $1 THIS WEEK! NOW THAT’S A BARGING FOR YOU!
