Today we are going to address something that is working its way around the church. It is a subtle little tactic often used by the devil to bring about defeat in the life of a Christian, and ultimately the church. I will call this the tactic the three D’s, distraction, discouragement, and defeat.
Before we begin let’s be sure not to give the devil anymore credit than is due. We often make him out to be some sort of opposite, but equal in power to God; this is simply not true. The devil was a created being that sinned and was cast out of heaven. He is a formidable enemy and we need to be very careful, but make no mistake, his power and scope are limited, and we can defeat him, because of our Lord.
