For the last 4 weeks we have been working our way through a series called, “Close Encounters;” an examination of the lives of biblical folks who met Jesus. So far we have talked about Zacchaeus, Mary Magdalene, Nicodemus, and last week, the woman caught in adultery.
Today we continue our series “Close Encounters” with the well known encounter Jesus had with the Samaritan woman at Jacobs well. To set the stage, let me start by a brief history lesson about the Jews and the Samaritans and why there was such bad blood between them.
