Country Blessings

One of the best kept secrets of Cameron County is a small little resale shop called Country Blessings. For those of you who have visited this little shop, you were greeted by friendly staff and volunteers, the coffee is always on!

Housed inside the Cameron County Christian Center, Country Blessings began in the fall of 2000. The idea was to receive excess goods from the community, then offer the best items at a reasonable price. Over the years, we have been blessed with a continual stream of items. The surplus items we cannot use are donated to Goodwill. To give a conservative idea of how much material has gone through Country Blessings since we have been open, we have given to Goodwill enough material to fill 25 large tractor trailers!!!

A large portion of the money received through Country Blessings is given back to the community by providing financial help to those in need. Over the years we have helped with gas, electric, water, and fuel. We have donated clothes, shoes and provided sustenance for dozens of families who would otherwise have to go without. Country Blessings has given well over $55,000 to families in need since we have been in operation, and that does not include donations of clothes and household items!

Country Blessings continues to receive donations of clothes and small household items from the community, and we thank the many generous individuals who have made donations; we could not function without their generosity.
